An unintended expatriate blogger behind Clear Grove Path

Hey, I'm Lucia

I work as a project manager. I'm a parent. An expat based in Madrid, Spain.

A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.

How It Started

Moving to Spain wasn't part of the long-term plan. As with many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far more significant.

The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more challenging than they should.

The Adjustment Period

Culture shock and uncertainty were present, along with plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines fell into place. We found places that fit our needs, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.

Why I Built Clear Grove Path

Most information online was either corporate relocation tips or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.

This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Spain.

What This Site Does (And Doesn't)

This site is:

  • Practical insights gained from living in Spain
  • Centered on family life and everyday realities
  • Updated when a real change occurs

This site isn't:

  • Not a tourism authority resource
  • Not a sponsored review platform
  • Not a generic travel blog

Looking Forward

Our stay in Spain continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.

If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Best regards,

Lucia
